Kedua tim sebenarnya silih berganti melakukan jual-beli serangan, namun ketatnya pertahanan dari masing-masing kesebelasan membuat pertandingan berakhir imbang tanpa gol, hingga dua kali masa perpanjangan waktu. Pertandingan pun dilanjutkan dengan babak adu penalti.
